Postdoctoral Research Fellow – Land and Sea Management

The ARC Centre of Excellence for Indigenous and Environmental Histories and Futures (CIEHF) is seeking a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Fellow to join our interdisciplinary research team based at our James Cook University Node, Townsville.
This exciting role will contribute to the Land and Sea Management research stream, supporting Indigenous-led priorities identified through on-Country co-design frameworks. The successful candidate will apply expertise in spatial analysis, remote sensing, and geospatial modelling to advance best practices for land and sea management across Australia.

Key Responsibilities:
Conduct collaborative research integrating Indigenous Knowledge, scientific data, and historical insights
Apply advanced spatial analysis, remote sensing, and geospatial modelling techniques
Foster strong partnerships with Indigenous organisations and community stakeholders
Contribute to interdisciplinary research outputs, knowledge sharing, and capacity building

🌿 Position Details:
Location: Townsville, Bebegu Yumba Campus, JCU
Duration: Fixed-term to August 2028
Salary: Academic Level A or B ($75,942 – $125,774 p.a.) + 17% superannuation + generous benefits

Appointment Level: Commensurate with qualifications and experience
